Tacos Mirasol is located a couple blocks south of Interstate 10 in Deming. The Mexican border may be 33 miles away, but the authentic Mexican food here is prepared the same way as it is south of the border. This place is definitely worth the stop.

As you can see in my photography, Tacos Mirasol is exactly what you want in an authentic Mexican joint. The colors are bright, the radio is loud and the wonderful aroma is intoxicating. We walked right up to the menu board and ordered Carnitas Tacos. Carnitas is my favorite! Can I get four por favor? Warm, homemade corn tortillas wrapped up the slow-cooked carnitas – which were no doubt a family recipe. The carnitas were browned just right and the onion and garlic flavor in the meat combined perfectly with the fresh, chopped vegetables on top. The fresh jalapeños were en fuego!

There is no better way to cool your mouth off from fresh jalapeños than with an ice-cold Horchata. So, that we did – and this reminded of many enjoyable trips to Mexico… good times!

I travel across the Southwest frequently and am glad the locals in Deming tipped me off to this authentic Mexican taco shop just north of the border. I am already planning my next trip… and you can you can be sure Tacos Mirasol on the itinerary.
